Privacy policy — SuperNav

This notice applies to the product website supernav.kitech.ai and provides complementary information about the WordPress plugin SuperNav. Last updated: 2026-08-03. It is carefully prepared for Swiss FADP (DSG) and, where applicable, EU GDPR — it is not a substitute for individual legal advice.

2. Scope

This policy covers personal data processed in connection with visiting and using this product website (documentation, marketing, Freemius checkout links). Processing that occurs solely on a customer’s WordPress installation after installing SuperNav is primarily the responsibility of that site’s operator; see section 12.

3. Categories of data, purposes and legal bases

We process personal data only where necessary for the stated purposes. Depending on the situation, the legal basis under Swiss FADP is in particular Art. 31 (and related provisions); where the GDPR applies, Art. 6(1) GDPR (especially lit. b contract, lit. f legitimate interests, lit. a consent, lit. c legal obligation).

• Server / access logs: IP address, date/time, requested URL, HTTP status, referrer, user agent — for secure operation, abuse prevention and troubleshooting (legitimate interests / technical necessity).
• Contact content: data you send by email or phone (e.g. name, company, message) — to respond to enquiries (contract steps / legitimate interests / consent where required).
• Purchases & licences: when you buy via Freemius, payment, billing and licence data are processed in the Freemius environment (see section 6).

We do not run our own advertising or analytics cookies on this documentation site by default, and we do not perform automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

4. Hosting and technical operation

This website is served from infrastructure operated by KITech (nginx web server). Access is limited to authorised administrators. Logs are used only for the purposes above and are deleted or anonymised on a rolling basis when no longer needed for security or operations (typically within a few weeks, longer only if needed for incident investigation).

5. Communication

If you contact us, we process the data required to handle your request and related follow-up. We do not use your contact data for unrelated marketing without a legal basis or your consent.

6. Purchases, licensing and Freemius

Paid licences for SuperNav are sold via Freemius. Freemius processes customer, payment and licence data according to its own terms and privacy policy and may act as independent controller and/or processor. Transfers may involve countries outside Switzerland / the EEA (including the USA). See Freemius Privacy Policy and the Freemius checkout terms. Contractual purchase terms, invoices and renewals are handled in the Freemius customer area.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

This marketing/documentation site does not set its own advertising or analytics cookies by default. If you use third-party services (e.g. Freemius checkout), those providers may set their own cookies or store local data under their policies. Browser settings allow you to restrict cookies.

8. Recipients and processors

Recipients may include: KITech staff/colleagues bound to confidentiality; hosting/IT support under our control; Freemius for purchases; and authorities where we are legally obliged to disclose data. We do not sell personal data.

9. International transfers

Where data are transferred to countries without an adequate level of protection, we rely on recognised safeguards where required (e.g. standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other lawful mechanisms used by the relevant provider such as Freemius). Details are available from the respective provider and on request from us.

10. Retention

• Access logs: short-term, see section 4.
• Correspondence: for the duration of the enquiry and as long as legal retention, defence of claims or documentation requires.
• Licence/purchase data: according to Freemius and applicable commercial/tax retention rules.

11. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (Swiss FADP and, where applicable, GDPR), you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC / EDÖB); in the EU/EEA with your local authority.

12. WordPress plugin SuperNav (note for site operators)

This product site describes the plugin. Processing by the installed plugin happens on the operator’s WordPress site; the operator is usually the controller there. In short:

• Free core: does not contact external KITech services by itself.
• Pro / Freemius: licensing and purchases go through Freemius (see section 6 and their privacy policy).
• AI translation (Grow+): only with the user’s own OpenRouter API key; calls only when a translation is run. Menu texts may be sent to OpenRouter / downstream model providers — responsibility and the key remain with the site operator.
• Map block (Grow+): Google Static Maps only with the user’s own Google API key; Google’s terms apply.

13. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures (access control, HTTPS, least privilege, updates). Absolute security of Internet transmission cannot be guaranteed.

14. Changes

We may update this notice when products, infrastructure or law change. The version published on this URL is authoritative.
